About Us

Bread & Chocolate is a bakery and coffee shop located on Grand Avenue in St. Paul, across the street from our sister restaurant, Cafe Latte.

Our quaint espresso bar is a Grand Avenue morning tradition and was one of the very first coffee shops to open in Saint Paul, in 1982. Indulge in one of our signature lattes, featuring Morningstar Coffee and something sweet from the bakery.The food menu features a large selection of fresh baked goods, panini's and custom sandwiches.

We are great for a light breakfast, a quick lunch, or a sweet snack. In the mornings it's all about our hand-crafted espresso drinks and freshly baked muffins, scones, cinnamon rolls, caramel rolls and assorted croissants. For lunch we offer a wide variety of custom sandwiches, paninis and salads.  If you are craving sweets at any time of the day we offer fresh baked cookies, bars and brownies.  Our space is perfect any time of the year!  If you are looking for a cozy spot on a cold morning, find a seat at one of our relaxing tables near the adobe fireplace or if you want to enjoy your lunch in the summer sunshine we have cafe style outdoor seating.  Parking is available in a surface lot behind the building.
